When thinking about what a "self-portrait" would entail, I immediately knew that it had to include my two little boys.
They are an extension of my personhood, the most significant part of being. My pride and my joy!
And so I set out to work on the most detailed, and largest foundation paper pieced quilt I have made to date.
This pattern was comprised of 8 separate patterns brought together to create this overall piece.
For the quilt top I used only 20 Moda Fabrics Bella Solids. Although using solids can increase the margin of error, I feel the overall impact of solids creates a clean and modern profile.
The backing is the ice cream cone fabrics from Boardwalk Delight by Made Everyday.
This piece measures 70x70in.
