The Heart Behind these Bobbin Boxes:
This bobbin box project all started with a Christmas gift—a shiny new 3D printer for two endlessly curious little boys. What began as “let’s see what this thing can do” quickly turned into “let’s make something cool… and maybe earn a little money for our next big idea!” Before long, our home was filled with the hum of printing and the buzz of big dreams. Along the way, they learned more than just how to design and print—they picked up math skills, figured out how to price and package their creations, and even started to understand the basics of running a business.
They are the true pride and joy behind Pride & Joy Quilting—and this project is a celebration of that. The goal? To bring joy to those who sew with thread, and to offer something both useful and beautiful to brighten up every sewing room. Each bobbin box is a little labor of love, made with heart, imagination, and a whole lot of love from two young dreamers and makers, guided by a mom who couldn't be more proud, on a mission to spread joy, one creative spark at a time.
Introduction:
We’re thrilled to introduce our full collection of Bobbin Boxes—a beautiful solution to a problem every quilter and sewist knows all too well: the tangled, jumbled mess of loose bobbins. Designed to bring both clarity and color to your sewing space, these boxes combine thoughtful function with joyful form.
Each box is custom-shaped to fit one of the four most commonly used bobbin types—Class M, Class 15/15J, Class L, and Singer Featherweight—and comes in a stunning array of 20 vibrant colors, including bold neons that spark joy every time you lift the lid.
The vision for these boxes was born in my own sewing studio and brought to life in collaboration with my two little boys—my pride, my joy, and the endlessly curious minds behind so much of what I create. Their creativity, energy, and love of color helped shape every detail, from the playful palette to the satisfying snap of the lid.
Before these boxes, my bobbins lived in tins, plastic bags, or worse—scattered across my worktable. With machines ranging from longarms to Berninas, a Juki, a Singer, and a Featherweight, I was constantly mixing bobbin sizes in all the wrong places. It wasn’t organized. It wasn’t inspiring. And it certainly wasn’t beautiful.
As makers, we’re intentional about the tools we keep close. We want objects that support our craft and reflect the joy we pour into it. That’s why we dreamed up something better: a bobbin box that feels like a jewelry box for your sewing essentials—sleek, smart, and full of color.
Each one features a soft sheen and intuitive layout that lets you sort your bobbins by type and color, so everything you need is exactly where it should be.
